Concrete Dumpster

It’s that time of the year to collect all your concrete material and products which you no longer need and place them in the concrete recycling dumpster at the Borough Hall parking lot.

The dumpster will be placed on Friday, May 31st and will continue to be available for the whole month of June

Please do not throw in anything but concrete materials such as bricks, cinder blocks, slate, rocks, garden items like your bird bath and those adorable gnomes, and even if you are replacing your sidewalk, patio or driveway you can dump all the concrete in the dumpster. No non-concrete items can be attached to the concrete such as metal or wooden poles/posts. Any questions, please call the Borough Hall

Gardening Reminder

When having mulch, stone or other gardening products delivered, DO NOT have it dropped in the borough roadway. Drop it in your driveway, or place a tarp on your lawn to dump on without damaging your lawn. The street is not a place to drop and store these materials. They cause a safety issue to drivers.

 dumpster permit icon

Dumpster Permit

It seems there is some confusion related to the borough’s dumpster permit requirement.

Whenever a homeowner has a need to obtain a dumpster for excessive trash, debris, remodeling waste, etc. at their home , they should stop in or call the borough office and obtain an application to fill out, and then return the permit application. Thereafter, the application is reviewed, and if approved the resident pays the $25 fee.

When a dumpster is authorized to be placed in a public street it must have proper reflective devices and in no way impede or obstruct traffic or site views.

If the dumpster does not meet the requirements for street placement, it must be off the street and in the driveway or front lawn.

Yard Waste Collection

We want to thank the residents for their assistance and understanding with the start of our yard waste collection initiative. One of the continuing issues is yard waste in plastic bags. Yard waste cannot be in plastic bags. We recommend you stop by Borough Hall to pick up a FREE red recycling can which you can use to place your yard waste in. We thank those residents who are using trash cans, brown biodegradable bags, and bundling yard waste. We will NOT be taking the bags in your regular trash collection.
