Snow Emergency
Snow Emergency Saturday, January 24th through Tuesday, January 27th
In recent years we have not had significant snow fall, but with this weekend’s impending storm the Borough has worked with our Emergency Response Teams to develop an extensive plan to ensure our residents are safe. We are placing a snow emergency in place starting Saturday, January 24th at 9:00 pm and lasting until Monday, January 26th at 6:00 pm unless extended by the Stratford Police Department.
Street Parking is Prohibited starting Saturday, January 24th at 9:00 pm.
When significant snow fall is anticipated, residents should park their vehicles off the public roadways. If there is not room in your driveway to fit all your vehicles, you may ask a neighbor who has room in their driveway, or park on your front lawn until the roadways have been plowed. Without the vehicles on the roadway the Public Works Department can then plow easily from curb to curb. When vehicles are on the roadway, the plows have to make a large curving pattern around the vehicle; are not able to clear that side of the street and your vehicle will usually have more snow around it from the plowing efforts.
During a snow emergency the law prohibits parking on the street. Keep in mind during these types of emergencies the police have the authority to ticket the owner of the vehicle. On Street Parking is currently suspended until 6:00 pm on Monday, January 26th. click for more information!
