Why do I get two sewer bills (CCMUA & Stratford Borough Sewer Utility)
These two government agencies handle different steps of the sewage collection and treatment
services provided to your property. Stratford Borough handles the first part of the system, that
takes sewage from your home’s service line where it connects to the sewer main in the street
which transports the sewage to the county-wide system. Then, CCMUA handles the conveyance
of sewage to the treatment plant in Camden City and the actual treatment of the raw sewage.
Stratford Borough and CCMUA each send you a bill to cover its separate costs of providing
services to you. You are not being billed twice for duplicated services.

Stratford Borough Sewer is billed twice per year with payment due April 1 and October 1.

CCMUA will send you quarterly invoices.

For your convenience, the Borough of Stratford now accepts online payments for your tax and sewer bills!

Please note that a 2.95% convenience fee will be added to all online credit/debit card payments. The current fee for paying by E-Check is $1.95.  

You must hit the final submit button to ensure your payment has been successfully submitted. If done correctly, you will receive an email with a confirmation number.

If there is a lien on the property, payments through WIPP will not be allowed until the lien has been redeemed through the Tax Collector’s Office.

The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program is available to eligible individual households that pay for their own water and sewer and meet low-income requirements. The LIHWAP program is not available for business accounts, estates, or property management companies.

Sewer Line Back Up:
If you ever experience or find your sewer line backing up on to your lawn, or into the house, or not operating as it should, please remember our Sewer Team is available 24/7.  They will come out to review the issue, and attempt to plunge the sewer line clear.  Your outside sewer vent would have to be accessible for this to take place.  Save yourself the cost of calling a plumber.  If our Team finds the issue to be more serious, then they will recommend you contact a local plumber, but before going to the cost, use the free service our Sewer Team provides you.  Also when needing sewer repair work or sewer replacement, PLEASE get more than one quote.  We find many residents taking the first contractor they can, and at times they are over charging the resident. 

Keep this information handy when needed:
Call 856-783-4900, which is the County Dispatch Center.  Tell them you need someone from the Stratford Sewer Department to come out to your home.  They will ask for your name, address and phone number.  They will contact our Sewer Team, and will respond.

WARNING:
SSA is not responsible for damages caused by sewage backup resulting from plumbing fixtures below grade. The lateral to the main is the responsibility of the property owner.
