Dear Stratford Community.
Thank you for those that have contacted the United States Postal Service® Stratford office. This is in response to your recent inquiry regarding delayed mail.
As a result of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Postal Service TM mail which includes Priority Mail® products and First-Class TM packages may temporarily experience delivery delays due to
limited transportation availability.
Please be assured, the Postal Service’s goal is to move packages as expeditiously as possible, and we are committed to ensuring timely processing and delivery of essential packages. The Postal Service continually reviews its network capacity to provide the American public reliable, efficient, and fast delivery
service.
Due to the COVID-19 Virus, employee’s availability has also impacted some delivery operations. The Postal Service is mindful of the fact that customers are in need of the timely delivery of mail, particularly mail conveying medications, merchandise packages, and First-Class Mail. Consequently, we are currently undertaking efforts to bring on additional resources to address this situation. We will continue to monitor daily performance and ensure that mail delivery is returned to normal as soon as possible. Your local post office is doing everything it can to resume normal delivery with limited staff.
